Turp për drejtësinë ndërkombëtare dhe për mënyrën si u trajtuan krimet e regjimit serb në Hagë. Millosheviçi dhe ideologjia e tij kriminale lanë pas gjenocid, shkatërrim dhe dhimbje të pamatshme në Bosnje, Kroaci e Kosovë por drejtësia mbeti e mangët.
Sot, pas arsyetimit të Prokurorisë në Gjykatën Speciale, ndihem i fyer si qytetar dhe si jurist.
Edhe pse nuk luftova me armë, sot jam Hashim, Kadri, Jakup dhe Rexhep.
Sepse heshtja përballë padrejtësisë është faj.

Turp dhe zhgënjim i thellë për mënyrën se si drejtësia ndërkombëtare, përmes Gjykatës së Hagës, ka vepruar dhe po vepron ndaj krimeve të regjimit serb dhe përgjegjësve të tij politikë, ushtarakë e ideologjikë.

Rasti i Sllobodan Millosheviçit president që dha urdhra dhe bashkëpunëtorëve të tij si Mlladiqi, Shesheli e të tjerë, mbetet një plagë e hapur e drejtësisë ndërkombëtare. Institucionet më të larta shtetërore të Serbisë i zbatuan këto urdhra me përpikëri, ndërsa strukturat paramilitare u bashkuan me zell në një projekt kriminal që prodhoi gjenocid, spastrim etnik dhe shkatërrim sistematik në Bosnje, Kroaci dhe Kosovë.

Popullsia civile u masakrua, u dëbua, u poshtërua. Kosova u plaçkit dhe u dogj. Dënimet ishin të buta, përgjegjësia kolektive u relativizua, ndërsa ideologjia kriminale u mbulua edhe me bekim fetar nga struktura të caktuara të Kishës Ortodokse Serbe.

Sot, pas arsyetimit të dhënë nga Prokuroria në Gjykatën Speciale në Hagë, si qytetar, si jurist dhe si aktivist që nga paslufta e deri më sot, ndihem thellësisht i turpëruar dhe i fyer në ndërgjegjen time qytetare.
Edhe pse nuk kam qenë drejtpërdrejt i përfshirë në luftë, sot unë jam Hashim, jam Kadri, jam Jakup, jam Rexhep.

Sepse kur drejtësia deformohet, përgjegjësia bëhet kolektive.
Kur viktima gjykohet, e vërteta rrezikohet.
Dhe kur heshtim, historia përsëritet.

Shame on international justice for the way the crimes of the Serbian regime were handled in The Hague. Milošević’s ideology left genocide, destruction, and immense suffering in Bosnia, Croatia, and Kosovo yet justice remained incomplete.
After today’s reasoning by the Prosecution in The Hague, I feel deeply offended as a citizen and jurist.
Even if I did not fight with weapons, today I am Hashim, Kadri, Jakup, and Rexhep.
Silence in the face of injustice is complicity.

Shame and deep disappointment over the way international justice, through The Hague, has handled and continues to handle the crimes of the Serbian regime and its political, military, and ideological architects.

The case of Slobodan Milošević, a president who issued orders, together with figures such as Mladić, Šešelj, and others, remains an open wound in the credibility of international justice. Serbia’s highest political, military, and police institutions executed these orders with precision, while paramilitary forces eagerly joined a criminal project that resulted in genocide, ethnic cleansing, and systematic destruction in Bosnia, Croatia, and Kosovo.

Civilians were massacred, displaced, and humiliated. Kosovo was looted and burned. Sentences were lenient, responsibility was relativized, and criminal ideology was, in many cases, morally shielded by segments of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

Today, following the reasoning presented by the Prosecution at the Kosovo Specialist Chambers in The Hague, I feel deeply ashamed and offended as a citizen, as a jurist, and as an activist engaged since the post war period.
Even though I was not directly involved in the war, today I am Hashim, Kadri, Jakup, and Rexhep.

Because when justice is distorted, responsibility becomes collective.
When victims are judged, truth is endangered.
And when we remain silent, history repeats itself.
