Sipas vlerësimit tim, me këto politika dhe veprime diplomatike, pozicioni ndërkombëtar i Republikës së Kosovës po dobësohet dhe rrezikon të përballet me pasoja serioze në afatin e mesëm dhe afatgjatë.

Miq të nderuar,

Po e ndaj këtë qëndrim me ndjenjë të lartë përgjegjësie qytetare dhe kombëtare, plotësisht i vetëdijshëm se mund të mos pajtohen të gjithë me të. Megjithatë, besoj se heshtja përballë zhvillimeve që i konsideroj shqetësuese do të ishte papërgjegjësi.

Sipas bindjes sime, pozicioni ndërkombëtar i Republikës së Kosovës dhe procesi i konsolidimit të shtetësisë sonë janë duke u përballur me sfida të panevojshme. Nëse vazhdohet me vendime të pamenduara mirë, ekziston rreziku që ky pozicion të dobësohet edhe më tej në vitet që vijnë.

Shpresoj sinqerisht që aleatët tanë strategjikë veçanërisht Shtetet e Bashkuara të Amerikës dhe partnerët euroatlantikë, të cilët dhanë kontribut vendimtar për lirinë dhe shtetësinë e Kosovës të mos humbin besimin për shkak të vendimeve apo veprimeve të papërgjegjshme të institucioneve tona.

Dua të jem shumë i qartë: nuk jam kundër të drejtave të komuniteteve, pakicave apo grupeve etnike. Respektimi i të drejtave të tyre është standard demokratik dhe evropian. Megjithatë, kam shqetësime serioze se mënyra se si po trajtohet Ligji për Shtetësinë ngase mund të krijojë pasoja të paparashikuara dhe të hapë një “derë të Pandorës”, e cila në të ardhmen mund të shfrytëzohet nga faktorë që nuk ia duan të mirën Republikës së Kosovës.

Mbetem i shqetësuar se qarqe të caktuara në Serbi, të mbështetura edhe nga interesa të tjera gjeopolitike, mund të përpiqen ta përdorin këtë situatë në favor të agjendave të tyre. Zhvillimet e fundit dhe numri në rritje i kërkesave për shtetësi nga qytetarë me nacionalitet serb e bëjnë këtë shqetësim edhe më serioz.

Kosova është ndërtuar mbi partneritetin e saj të palëkundur me SHBA-në dhe botën demokratike perëndimore. Çdo veprim që mund të krijojë paqartësi ose të dëmtojë këtë orientim strategjik duhet të analizohet me kujdes maksimal, sepse pasojat mund të ndihen për shumë vite.

Në fund, do t’i lutesha secilit që dëshiron të komentojë ta lexojë këtë status me qetësi, në tërësinë e tij dhe pa paragjykime partiake. Ky nuk është një mesazh kundër askujt; është një apel për reflektim dhe përgjegjësi shtetërore.

Komentet me gjuhë fyese, etiketime apo propagandë partiake nuk i shërbejnë debatit dhe nuk do të jenë pjesë e diskutimit që synoj të zhvilloj.

Kosova është mbi të gjithë ne. Pikërisht për këtë arsye, secili prej nesh ka detyrimin moral të flasë kur mendon se interesi shtetëror mund të jetë në rrezik.

IN MY ASSESSMENT, THESE POLICIES AND DIPLOMATIC ACTIONS RISK WEAKENING KOSOVO’S INTERNATIONAL POSITION, PARTICULARLY IN THE MEDIUM AND LONG TERM

Dear friends,

I am sharing these thoughts with a deep sense of civic and national responsibility, fully aware that not everyone will agree with my views. Nevertheless, I believe that remaining silent in the face of developments I consider concerning would be irresponsible.

In my opinion, the international standing of the Republic of Kosovo and the continued consolidation of its statehood are facing unnecessary challenges.

If decisions continue to be made without sufficient strategic consideration, our country’s position could become even more vulnerable in the years ahead.

I sincerely hope that our strategic allies especially the United States of America and our Euro-Atlantic partners, whose support was decisive in Kosovo’s path to freedom and independence will not become discouraged by irresponsible decisions or actions taken by our highest institutions.

Let me be absolutely clear: I fully support the rights of minorities and all ethnic communities.

Respect for their rights is a fundamental democratic and European value. However, I am seriously concerned that the current approach to the Citizenship Law may create unintended consequences and open a “Pandora’s box” that could eventually be exploited by actors who do not wish Kosovo well.

I am also concerned that certain circles in Serbia, supported by broader geopolitical interests, may attempt to use this situation to advance their own agendas.

Recent developments, including the growing number of citizenship applications submitted by citizens of Serbian ethnicity, make these concerns even more significant.

Kosovo’s future has been built upon its unwavering partnership with the United States and the democratic Western world. Any action that could undermine or cast doubt on this strategic orientation deserves the highest level of scrutiny, as its consequences may extend far into the future.

Finally, I respectfully ask everyone who wishes to comment to read this statement carefully and objectively, free from partisan bias.

This is not a message against anyone; it is an appeal for reflection, responsibility, and a sincere commitment to Kosovo’s national interest.

Comments containing insults, political propaganda, or personal attacks will not contribute to a constructive discussion and will therefore not be engaged with.

Kosovo stands above all of us. For that very reason, each of us has a moral responsibility to speak when we believe the country’s national interests may be at risk.
